mildly moist

So, yeah. Huge freaking monsoon last night, hitting hard about four seconds after we got home from dinner out (planning our infiltration of Germany next summer with Dot & Tom, wheee!).

It was awesome: 75-100-mph winds, rain coming down sideways, thunder like the biggest bowling alley ever, lightning like you wouldn’t believe. Mother nature’s lightswitch rave! We stood outside watching the water overwhelm our gutters and fountain off the roof, and watched the house across the street vanish from view in phenomenal gusts of rain.

Less awesome: Climbing into Colin this morning & realizing, as I sat down squelchily, that I’d left the driver’s side window cracked. Driving to work on a trash bag was unpleasant, as was the water pouring out of the steering column onto my leg as I took a turn.

Ah, well. At least there was no structural damage at our place, which is good.

I have a habit of leaving my driver’s side window open during torrential rain…

Now my car stinks. Blech. But I never learn!!
